8. Beauty is a trap! | Miranda Aguilar

Updated: Sep 14

Miranda Aguilar is a queer Filipinx writer, creative producer and community arts worker. Their work includes being a lead writer and showrunner of Las Rosas, a Western Sydney telenovela webseries, producing Prone to the Drone, which premiered at last year's Sydney Film Fest, and supporting young, diverse story-tellers through the community arts and media organisation CuriousWorks.

They write scripts and stories for soft-spoken brown weirdoes, spicy gay nerds, and hopeful pessimists. They like food writing, video games and That Gay Shit. The only thing they like less than bland, unseasoned writing is listening to someone’s plans for a script they will never actually write. Their first play, Let Me Know When You Get Home, is premiering next year at Riverside Theatres as part of National Theatre of Parramatta's 2020/2021 program.
